Mati Chief Science Officer Jake Jordan & Scientific Advisors David J Beerling, Noah Planavsky and Chris Reinhard have contributed to this seminal paper. This is a major long duration field trial study conducted over a period of 4 years in the US corn belt. Principal findings:
1. Enhanced weathering led to a cumulative carbon dioxide removal (CDR) of 10.5 ± 3.8 t CO2 ha−1 over four years.
2. Maize and soybean yields increased by 12 to 16% due to enhanced weathering.
3. The increase in yields was attributed to improved soil fertility and decreased soil acidification.
